Tech-debt cleanup
Make the code safe to change again.
For codebases that grew faster than anyone could review them, and now slow down every change. Quoted after an audit or a discovery call, and fixed where it is.
from US$15,000from A$22,000from ¥2,200,000 quoted per project

Why it builds up
Code written quickly, with or without AI help, collects copies of the same logic, tests that were never written, and dependencies nobody revisits. None of it is a problem on the day it is written. All of it makes the next change slower and riskier.
GitClear's 2025 research on AI-assisted code found duplicated code blocks growing about fourfold, while refactoring fell from 25% to under 10% of changed lines. GitClear
What a cleanup covers
Ranked by business impact, like audit findings: the work goes first where the product is about to change, not wherever the code looks worst.
- Tests where the money is
- Tests around the flows that make or lose money first: sign-up, checkout, the core action, permissions.
- Duplicated logic
- One copy of each rule, such as a price, a permission or a limit, instead of several that have drifted apart.
- Dependencies
- Upgrades for what is outdated or known to be vulnerable, and removal of what is not used.
- Builds and deploys
- A pipeline that runs the tests on every change, environments to try changes in, and a way to roll back.
- Errors and visibility
- Error handling that fails safely, and logs and alerts that show a problem before a customer does.
- Structure
- Large files and tangled modules split along the lines the product actually changes on.
Fixed where it is
The default recommendation is to clean up the code you have, on the stack it is built on. A rewrite or a migration is recommended only when the audit shows it is worth the cost; that is a modernisation project.
How it is priced
from US$15,000from A$22,000from ¥2,200,000
Every project is quoted after an audit or a discovery call, once the scope is known. The proposal sets the scope, the milestones and the price; the figure above is where projects start.
- 30% deposit when the proposal is accepted.
- Milestone payments as the proposal sets them, each payable within 14 days (net 14).
- Delivered as pull requests that you review and merge, with written handover notes at the end.
Prices exclude GST / consumption tax where applicable.
Find out where the debt is costing you.
An audit ranks the debt by what it means for the business, and ends with a fixed price to fix it. Start with the free check, or book a call.
