v0
Turn your v0 project into a product that holds up.
v0 generates React and Next.js code quickly, and projects often start as an interface, with the data and sign-in added later. The places where those pieces meet are where production problems usually sit.
Common failure modes
These turn up in fast-built apps whatever they were built with, once an app grows faster than anyone reviews it. Most can be fixed where the app is.
-
Server code that does not check the caller
In Next.js, a server action or route handler can be called by anyone, not only by your page. Each one has to check who is calling and what they may do.
-
Variables exposed to the browser
Anything in a variable prefixed NEXT_PUBLIC_ is written into the JavaScript every visitor downloads. Secret keys must never carry that prefix.
-
Personal data in a shared cache
A page that shows one user's data must not be cached and served to the next. Caching settings deserve the same review as access rules.
-
Preview deployments
Preview links are easy to share and easy to forget. If they reach production data or keys, they need the same protection as production.
-
The joins between pieces
An interface, a data layer and sign-in built at different times can disagree about who is allowed to do what. The audit follows each important flow end to end.
What the audit checks on a v0 app
The code and product audit reads the code, not only what is visible from outside, and ranks every finding by what it means for the business. On a v0 app, that includes:
- Every server action and route handler: who can call it, and what it checks.
- Environment variables, and which ones reach the browser.
- Caching of pages and data that belong to one user.
- Authentication, sessions and roles.
- Preview and production environments, and what each can reach.
- Performance and Core Web Vitals on the pages that matter.
- Your product and business goals, from an interview, so every finding is ranked by what it means for the business.
Production-ready where you are
The default recommendation is to harden the app on the stack it is built on. A change of stack is recommended only when the audit shows it is worth the cost.
Run the free check on your v0 app.
It scans what your app already shows the world, such as keys in its JavaScript, its headers, HTTPS and versions, and Aaron reviews the result within two business days. It runs only after you confirm by email and show the app is yours.
