Modernisation
Modernise what holds the product back, not what works.
Legacy and platform modernisation for apps that have outgrown where they started, quoted after an audit or a discovery call.
from US$15,000from A$22,000from ¥2,200,000 quoted per project
Prices exclude GST / consumption tax where applicable.
Hardening where you are comes first
The default recommendation is to make the app you already have hold up in production. Much of what makes a fast-built app fragile can be fixed in place, on the stack it is built on.
A migration, whether off a platform, onto a new framework or to a different database, is recommended only when the audit shows it is worth the cost. When it is, it is planned in milestones, and the app keeps working at each one.
What a modernisation project can cover
Each project's scope comes from the audit or the discovery call. Typical pieces:
- Frameworks and runtimes
- Upgrading what is out of support or holding back the next feature, in steps that keep the app running.
- Moving off a platform
- Moving an app off a builder's hosting or a backend it has outgrown, when the audit shows the move is worth its cost.
- The part that limits growth
- Rebuilding one piece, such as the data model, authentication or billing, when it is what stands between the product and its next stage.
- Legacy code nobody can change
- Bringing an older codebase under tests and into a shape where a change no longer needs courage.
How it is priced
from US$15,000from A$22,000from ¥2,200,000
Every project is quoted after an audit or a discovery call, once the scope is known. The proposal sets the scope, the milestones and the price; the figure above is where projects start.
- 30% deposit when the proposal is accepted.
- Milestone payments as the proposal sets them, each payable within 14 days (net 14).
- Delivered as pull requests that you review and merge, with written handover notes at the end.
Prices exclude GST / consumption tax where applicable.
Not a migration, just hard to change?
If the stack is fine but the code is not, that is a tech-debt cleanup: the same kind of quoted project, aimed at making the code you have safe to change again.
Start with what the app needs, not with a migration.
Book a discovery call to talk it through, or start with the free check of your app's public surface.
